Ant Control FAQs
What attracts ants into my home?
Ants enter homes in search of food, water and a safe place to nest. Even tiny crumbs, sugary spills or a pet’s food bowl can be enough to draw a whole trail of them indoors. Keeping kitchen surfaces clean and food sealed makes your home far less appealing to them.
Why are there more ants after the treatment?
A short increase in ant activity is normal and shows the treatment is doing its job. The ants are attracted to the bait and carry it back to their nest to feed the rest of the colony. Within a few days, activity should start to drop as the colony is wiped out.
Do store-bought ant products work?
Shop-bought sprays and traps usually only kill the ants you can see, while the colony and queen survive out of sight. This is why ants often return a few days later in the same numbers. A professional treatment targets the colony itself for longer-lasting results.
Why shouldn’t I spray or clean where the bait has been placed?
Cleaning products and sprays can contaminate the bait, which makes the ants avoid it. If the ants stop feeding on the bait, it can’t reach the nest and the treatment won’t work properly. Leave treated areas undisturbed and let the bait do its job.
How long does it take to get rid of ants?
Most homes see a clear improvement within one to two weeks, depending on the ant species and size of the infestation. Large or well-established colonies can take longer and may need a follow-up visit. Patience is important, because baits work gradually to eliminate the entire colony.
