Why Professional Harvester

Termite Control is Important

Harvester termites can cause extensive damage to lawns and gardens by cutting and carrying away grass, leaves and other plant material. As activity increases, healthy lawn areas can become thin, damaged or completely bare.

Professional treatment targets affected areas and active foraging zones, helping to control the infestation more effectively than simply treating the termites visible above ground.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common signs include termites actively foraging above ground during the day, pieces of grass or plant material being cut and carried away, small holes surrounded by fine loose soil, and circular or spreading areas of thinning or bare lawn.

Harvester termites mainly feed on grass, leaves and vegetation and forage openly above ground. Subterranean termites feed on wood and cellulose and usually travel through protective mud tubes.

Flying termites have straight antennae, a broad waist and four wings of similar length. Flying ants have elbowed antennae, a narrow waist and front wings that are longer than the rear wings.

Harvester termites mainly damage lawns, gardens and turf rather than structural timber. In rare cases, they may damage materials such as thatch, paper, cardboard, carpets or curtains.

The price depends on the size of the property, lawn or garden area and the severity of the infestation. Infinity Pest Management will provide the exact price in the quotation.

Treatment starts with an inspection of active foraging holes and affected lawn areas. Professional bait or liquid treatment is then applied to target the infestation and underground colony.

A combination of both may be used. Affected lawn areas can receive broader treatment, with additional targeted treatment around active holes and nest entrances.

Activity normally starts reducing within approximately 3 to 7 days. Full control of the underground colony can take approximately 1 to 3 weeks.

In many cases, one comprehensive treatment may be sufficient. A follow-up or spot treatment after approximately 10 to 14 days may be required if termite activity remains.

Customers should generally avoid watering or irrigation for approximately 24 to 48 hours after treatment. Rain and irrigation can affect some treatments.

Children and pets should stay off treated areas during treatment and for the period advised by the technician. Always follow Infinity Pest Management's instructions before allowing them back onto the lawn.
